STOP Don't Plant Strawberries in the Ground! The original plants were at the very bottom of this picture and now take up half the garden I wish someone had told me that two years ago when I made the grave mistake of planting two adorable little strawberry plants in my garden. Don't get me wrong, I am glad that I planted them and last year I enjoyed all of the fresh strawberries. So did the many others I shared with, because, you see, Strawberries spread like WEEDS!! I started with two small 2 inch plants and now I have found strawberries in my lawn, 5 feet away from my garden. Also, the leaves stayed green all winter, which I didn't know would happen. I found these two in the lawn, trying to pot them to give them another chance. Starting this year, I am trying to propagate the plants in pots and I have already cut back about a foot of the garden. Last year, I also learned that basil tends to self propagate and my tomatoes (haven't planted in 4 y
